What are you lookin for when you travel?

Travel choices... these are mine, what are yours? - I travel to places where I can be by the beach and in a more or less quiet place.

Me, I want a nice not too crowded place right by the beach. I don't need shopping, I don't need casinos, I don't need much as long as I'm by the beach. If there is a chance to visit some museums or historical monuments I would like that too, but it's not a priority. Of course a lot of people choose their travel destinations to be quite different from mine. Some look for places where they can do a lot of shopping, some want a place with a lively nightlife, some want to visit big cities, some want exotic places... What do you look for when you're planning the place where you want to travel to?

i love to travel ,anywhere with a casino is a place for me but we also enjoy many other things ,we look for places with battlefields we also look for waterfalls, but being handicap now its sometimes hard to get to some of them shopping isnt important, but i like places with good food options, sometimes a well rounded place like pocono mountains resort , where we can mingle with others or stay quietley in our room, but wherever we go i dont know if we will ever get back there again so i like to drive around and see whats there in the vacinity,so i dont miss anything lol

Yes, I know what you mean about never knowing if we will get back there again:) I like to look around too, and the waterfalls!!! OH I love that too :) I used to travel way more than what I do know, at least traveling abroad. Lately we have explored the beautiful province of Ontario where I live and found that I don't have to travel far to find beautiful places. We usually go camping and I really enjoy being part of nature. Every once in a while I miss all the traveling I used to do before, but I"m enjoying what I'm doing for now:)

There are beautiful unspoiled places here in Ontario for the ones that love nature. I can't ever get tired of the beautiful scenery and lakes, the quiet, the animal life.... Now Toronto.. what can I say? It's where I live but not by choice. If I could choose I would live away from Toronto, but at the same time close enough to come to the city when I wanted some noise and movement - which wouldn't be often LOL

when i travel, i hope for a place which is a little quiet, safe and where i can just relax. beaches are a great place to be in. relaxing and fascinating. great scenery and very calm. i don't care if there are no shopping malls. for as long as there's a place where i can eat and buy some necessary stuffs, it's okey for me.

Somewhere quiet, nice and hot (not too hot, as I have skin that easily burns) by the sea, beautiful landscape and peaceful. I hate noise and especially places which has night life, I steer clear of those resorts. It depends on the holiday sometimes I will go just for relaxation i.e. the beach and a good hotel and peace. Other times I go to the city for culture and to appreciate the architecture. I love Cyprus for the beach and sun and Amsterdam for the city life.

I'm with you. Good choices. I was in Amsterdam about 25 years ago. It was a great trip:) But still I will prefer a nice and quiet small beach place :)

OH I do like archaeological sites too!!!! And I love to visit museums - well, historical museums I do:) But I always need to be close to the beach because swimming and just being by the ocean is what relaxes me most and what makes me feel better.

I love water, and that is primarily what I look for! I don't really care too much for shopping, since I live in a big city and I pretty much get anything I wish for over here. What I do look for, is lots of great food, lots of water, and plenty of beautiful scenery! Snow-capped mountain peaks would also do. Busy cities are places I would almost certainly avoid, though.

OH yes.. the scenery... I'm with you there too:) And in general I avoid busy cities too. I did my fair share of traveling and visited many cities and countries, but now I prefer quiet, sun, sand and ocean:)

If ever I would make plans on travelling, I make sure that I'm for a good vacation. I make sure that the place that I'm going to would provide me peacefulness and relaxation, different from the urban life where we are used of. I would also make sure that there's a lot of great sites and scenes to explore at, with a safe place to walk around.

Yes I agree with you completely that's what I like from a vacation as well, specially the part about peacefulness and relaxation different from the urban life we live. I also like to walk around and explore as long as it's not in a busy noisy place and providing it's safe

I would like a little Country in the Countryside where there is peace no rushing around and lots of fresh Air. I would like a beach to be near by or if I can't have that a River where you can walk round with no Traffic or People rushing.

Gabs you're just making me want summer to come faster LOL I would like that too. One of the things I look for is exactly the same as you: peace, no rushing, fresh air.... I would take a nice river or lake if I had no chance for a nice beach.. but it wouldn't exactly be the same :)

Well I don't travel much but I'd say as long as thing there aren't to expensive and have the basics, fridge, lighting... and very low crime then I'd like to visit it and see as much of it possible!

Same here. It's nice to be able to take some time to travel and relax. I am focusing on traveling close to where I live now. It's less expensive and I learned that there are many wonderful places no farther than a day's drive away. Providing that I'm ready for some work that always comes with camping LOL

What I look for when I'm planning the place where I want to travel to would be shopping malls, that's the first thing I ask. I want to shop and shop, second would be the nightlife. Traveling isn't fun without these two for me.

Yes a lot of people look for that. I think I did too for a brief time:) But I'm more the relaxing type, so I really prefer a quiet place that allows me to do my favorite activities - swiming, reading, exploring.
