Are those fast food burgers really made of meat?

after working in mcdonald's and white castle growing up, I can honestly say NOTHING IS WHAT YOU THINK IT IS WHEN YOU WORK AT A FAST FOOD RESTAURANT!!! I don't mean to go off topic..we are talking about beef..but the chicken rings at white castle (as good as they are)aren't even chicken..they are pork! As far as mcdonald's is concerned, I don't know if their meat is beef and I never had any problems with it, but the meat at white castle was definitely weird..it came in boxes and looked like lego blocks..I don't understand how their beef is so much different than everyone elses...

i try not to hard to think about that. i worked at a fast food restaurant for a while when i was a teenager. ugh. just watching them put the burgers together was gross enough, not even thinking about what the burgers are made of!

i have no idea what they prepare in the fast food and which kind of meat could be served there: when i was younger, i went once in a fast food MacDonalds and after having a cheeseburger my stomach was burning, after some months with friends i tried again an the story was the same...so the meat used in the fast food, sooner or later will cause you some health diseases

I suppose they do have a bit of beef in them to start with, but if you see the description it has words like "burger, 1/4 pounder, whopper, etc." If they don't use the word "beef" they don't have to have any in there! We are just "assuming" it's beef!

I have been wondering about that myself. Most of the time they don't really taste like real meat. They don't even look like real meat for that matter. That's why we have to eat them with lots of sauce to enhance the taste.

I had macdonalds last night, and I couldnt even finish my big mac because I thought the meat tasted so nasty! I wonder what they do to it.
