I have just seen on the tv that it is 200 years to the day since an act of Parliament made the trafficking of slaves to Britain or any of it's colonies illegal! This was not an end of slavery but was the beginning of the end of a way of life that should make us all hang our heads in shame! Slavery was an abhorrence to any one's way of thinking! I would just like to say Thank God that it is a practise that the world now knows is wrong and ask if nothing else surely this day 200 years after the fact we should celebrate that our ancestors actually started to see sense!

Kathy pointed out that slavery still exists in places such as Ghana - I looked up some websites and discovered that it is true! I find this absolutely abhorrent in this day and age! I think this is something the leaders of the world should and must do something about surely! xxx

Well Friday, actually I watch a show on television and do you know that actually in Africa (Ghana) was the name of the place that they are still doing slavery it was on Oprah Show and it showed child slavery and people that were saving some of the children it was dreadful the poor little things aged from 4-10 years of age, so slavery still exists today. So some people need to wake up and stop this slavery of children.

I will celebrate that for sure. Our country fought the civil war because of slavery the 1860's.The slaves got their freedom but still in some places are not considered equal. And that we even have to talk about racial discrimation tells how backward we still are.
Cheers Hon...I'll drink to that
