I was diagnosed with non-toxic goiter in 2001, and have been on levothyroxine eversince .My endo have prescribed a life-time hormone replacement, and told me if my goiter will bother me a lot, then i could have a surgery removing my thyroid gland, and still i will have to be dependent on this drug for life, there is no escape. I am entertaining surgery about this time, because people close to me and people i meet in school or anywhere I go seems to inquire almost always if i have goiter, it becomes noticeable now after 6 years since i was diagnosed. It seems it bothers them, but it doesn't to me, becoz I dont really feel anything wrong with it, i have no tremors, i feel really fine. I saw my endo recently and she told me to consider surgery seriously. I cant really contain my fears of the surgery at the moment. What must i do? Should it surgery or not?
