Life is fragile we live on the ledge Each of us so close of falling off the edge This day we remember a son, a brother, Timothy......., also a father Tim had a rough time as he was being raised It seems Tim's father was not often praised February eleven was the day Tim was born. September twenty two is the day we will mourn He was educated some in Butler schools, There he was taught to play by the rules. The Armco team is where he played ball, When he came to bat, there he stood tall. More recently Louisisana is where he stayed. There he put into practice his welding trade. He'd take two pieces and try to tack them together, but he had a monkey on his back. He was homeless for a time, even behind bars. All this contributed to emotional scars. Tough things in life he often braved Yet while down south, Timmy got saved. During leisure time he read some books By Louie Lamour about western crooks. He wandered around quite a bit Trying to find just where he fit. A week ago Tuesday he was struck by a car, Now he's gone to aplace that is far. Some take it hard while wringing their hands: Guess we're all still tying to understand. It's hard to know just how to choose Until you've walked a mile in another's shoes, Alcoholism is a terrible disease, But so is cancer and heart disease, It's hard to kick it some never do, Try as they may, till their faces turn blue. Like Abraham, Tim roamed far and near. He left his family whom he loved so dear. His reasons we may never know why. Was it because he didn't want them to cry? Seeing him in the habit he could not kick? He just couldn't beat it: it made him sick, We may try hard, may even fudge, But in the end, let's let God be his judge. I am now looking for the preacher/reverand who wrote this, his name is Martin B. Hardy it was written in Butler, Pennsylvania in 1995. I need to get in touch with hime.
