Maintain the beauty of your paintings and photos. To keep your framed art perfectly preserved for future generations, here are a few tips:- 1. When framing artwork, use only acid-free mats (mounts) they are worth the extra money. 2. Do not expose photos to strong light for long periods of time; even picture lights and lamplight can cause damage and fading. 3. If you have framed photos on a wall that receives sunlight during the day, draw the curtains to reduce the exposure. 4. Irreparable damage can be caused by damp conditions and dry winters. The more consistent the temperature and weather conditions the better. Hang them on inside walls to avoid to avoid outside temperature changes. 5. Wear cotton gloves to handle artwork especially photography. Dirt and oils from your fingers can cause damage.

Once more good tips for those of us that still frame artwork and other things. I would include mirrors with frames. Sunlight really does a number on them too. Appreciate you sharing this with us. Am sure that there are some that will learn and use this information to treat their framed peices in better shape.
