Would you consider doing that? The only pet I bought was my Dalmatian, but the rest I had were all picked up from the streets..:) It all started when I saw a whimpering puppy under the bushes, he looked at me with big cute eyes, and I knew I had to take him home! I named him Whimpy ! :) When I grew up, it was a white fluffy kitten I found in the neighborhood and couldn't help taking him with me...in another few years I saw two frightening kittens on the road and I took them home. My mom doesn't like pets, she allergic to dogs and cats, but she was really proud when she saw me taking care of all these homeless animals and let me keep them. Waht about you?

I have had three cats and all of them have adopted me so I guess you could say they came from the street, I think it is nice to give an animal a home....

I have noticed, lilaclady, that cats are plentiful in the streets in our place. We feed them when they come to our house. One time, a mother lodged with us permanently and brought to our house her black male kitten. When the mother left us for good, the kitten was left under our total care. Ther are other cats which we have learned to love, but they come only for the meals.

They are good to have around, we used to have a lot of stray cats but the people who don't like cats made the local council get rid of them and now we are infested with mice and rats ans the stray cats are good for keeping the area rodent free...

I actually can't help but to stop and help a pet that is in need. Last year sometime I was on my way home from work and I saw this thing in the road it looked like a little gray bag. When I got closer it was a kitten! I stopped my car right there and picked it up and carried it to one of the near by yards away from the road. But almost instantly it headed straight back for the road. So I decided that I couldn't leave the poor thing there she was shivering, and maybe just a few weeks old. So I put her in my car and took her home with me, we can't have any more animals because we already had like two outside cats and one tempermental inside cat. So I called my baby sisters mom and asked her if they would like the kitten and she said yes so I took it over there almost instantly. While I was calling and right after I had gotten home I started to feed it because I knew with it being that young that it wouldn't last long with out food. Now the cat is about half a year old maybe a bit older and living with a three year old it is ready to play and sometimes it gets rough lol. It even plays hide and go seek with her! And it cries when she is gone. The only time I've ever bought a cat was when I was younger and I had been to a pet store close to my house and they had cats for ten dollers and the cat I picked out was so skinny and it looked sad so I just had to save it! Unfortunatley one day when we let it out in the yard to play it got killed because it got too close to the road. Can you believe that people actually try to hit animals!!! That kind of stuff makes me SICK!

Strawberry, you do a great thing saving pets. I save pets too and bring them home but only if they are not infected with some plague or deadly virus. I am unhappy with animal cruelty. Some of the nasty neighbors killed my cat too (they thought cats are evil and bad omen!). It was such a cute tiny thing! :( I looked for it an entire day and waited for days together but he never came back. I was so disheartened losing him that I decided not to keep another unless I moved to a safer place.

I am scared of stray dogs too. I cannot really pet the big ones, only if they are small, I pet them.

Hi Dear. You have given me a brilliant idea for having pets. I really never thought on these lines ever in my life. Thanks for enlightening me. I feel it would be a very noble cause to keep the street animals as pets. I know there are a few noble people doing this already, but I would be glad to do it myself.

Hi, leanette. Your mother did it wisely when she allowed you to take care of those animals. Children who loves and cares for animals, grow up to be loving and caring. Yes, my family will take in animals which we see to be needing our care. Even animals which their owners allow them to go just about anywhere, we feed them when they come to us. These animals are mostly cats and birds, though (pigeons, doves). I have become this way because, this is how my mother used to treat those animals which come to us when we were still kids.

We have three kittens, one we found at the beach and the other two on the road going home. We cannot bear leaving them on the streets so we took them home. And only a few days ago, we found a stray cat again, a pregnant one. And only this evening we found out when we came home from work that she already gave birth to 6 adorable, tiny kittens! So now we have 10 cats in our care! :p
