Earn extra here on mylot.

March 26, 2007 7:42am CST
I did a little experiment yesterday and it appears to have worked! I made less than ten posts yesterday and made $0.97! Each resonse was at least ten sentences long. It appears that length and good punctuation really does get you more pennies here in mylot! Looks like I might reach minimum payout this month after all! Good luck everyone!

I have noticed that too. Some days I make numerous responses and get only 30 cents or something, and other days I make a few responses but really get them going, they're long and interesting, and I make more money. In fact, I also did an experiment, and one day made no responses but only commented the responses on all of my discussions and also chose best responses for my unresolved discussions, that day I made close to a dollar without a single response. I think that's what's so great about my lot, that we actually get appropriately paid for the quality of the content and not the quantity. That's why the discussions remain interesting and people who're just here for money don't stick around long as they don't earn much from their one-line responses. I hope you do reach the minimum payout this month, good luck with that!!

i never notice a difference in the way they pay. I try to respond with more than a couple sentences. But, its really never the same from day to day.

Thanks for sharing the experiment's result with us . There was a similar discussion in which it was said that we should try to make each discussion about 8 sentences long.It is very much possible that more the number of sentences more is the payment. As the number of sentences denote the time one spends in responding to a discussion. The number of sentences is directly proportional to the time spend and hence to the earnings. But I wonder how do they look for the punctuation, etc.

Well analyze and explained.. :) I think what you said there is rational enough to prove the point mentioned of earning a bit more when making a longer response to a discussion.. Thanks, this helps.. :)

That sounds really good. Nearly 10c per answer sounds really high. I know that length of answers is taken into consideration, but I know that one days when I give really long answers I just get 2c per post rather than 1c. You are obviously better at doing it than me!

My paypal requires that you have $15 in your account before they will transfer it over to your account. They also charge you 50 cents for the transaction. Due to the $15 rule, I lost $3.00 that I had made by filling out a survey for a company. The company would only allow it to stay in Paypal for 30 days.

Does anyone here get paid using e-gold? I'm from the Philippines and I got only $1.06 after about two weeks being here in myLot. I've responded to quite a few discussions, as well as started a few myself. I also posted about a dozen images in a particular topic. I was just wondering if after all this effort, I make it to minimum payout, then how much would it cost to have e-gold monetized?

Thanks for the info. I hope that I will earn anything here on this site, cause I need money so much. Well, I think the main purpose is not the money in the end of the day. It is the community. I am a new user here and I must say that I like this site a lot so far.

I don't mind as if I wasn't on mylot I would probably be elsewhere doing it for free! Payment goes in to your specified account on the 15th of each month, provided you have reache $10. Good luck.

I wouldn't say that's too slow, it's almost a whole dollar! Keep that up for 10 days and you'd reach 10 dollars in absolutely no time. It's definitely a great tip, I shall be working on it myself to see if it works for me too!

This is what I keep telling new members who ask for help in earnng as much as they possibly can from mylot. I tell them it is quality not quantity that is going to earn them more money. I also tall them to add as much detail to there responses as they possibly can, because that will also help them. For me what helps me earn is my list of intrests. I am always looking back on my intrests for new discussions to respond to. I truly likethe intrests option mylot added that way I always have something I can fall back on to be able to respond to discussions that I am intrested in and have some knowledge in.

That would be good if you made the minimum payout this month. I am trying different things also to see what works the best as far as getting money. I am keeping track of the different things that I do. I try and make alot of good posts and make them long like you said. I also rate the posts that I read. I dont rate all of them but I rate most of them.

Well I am at $8.97 now! So fingers crossed I should make it!

I am going to follow your method and see what happens. I mean I don't mind posting about 10 responses with 10 sentences if it earns almost a dollar. To make up to the dollar, I need to just upload some photos. I am getting better now with 2 referrals helping me earn an additional 5 cents to 7 cents daily. If your method proves correct, I think we will see less responses all over but at least the people who simply post one to two sentences would lose out. Did you try this method out for a few days or just one day? If only I can get a dollar a day, that will be $30 dollars a month on personal effort. I appreciate your tip on this one. Good post.

Is it really happened to you? i think i will also try this and i will see, if i will be credited by them or not any way thanks for sharing this tips i will try it out and expecting a positive result from them i think you must have started some thread also that is why you got paid more and i think you will not get more than 3 cents a posts because it is written in mylots guideline if you want to earn more just upload some image also you will must get more than 1$ in a day any ways again thanks...

Thank you for that great tip. But are you sure you got the payment for just those 10 posts? Or maybe you were not paid for the last day and it carried over to this day? Anyway I am not going to take a chance and I am straightaway going to try what you have said. If it works it would be lot easier to myLot for me. I think finding a discussion to respond to is the biggest thing and if you can earn more by posting the lengthy response to a discussion then you have come over the problem of finding many discussions that earn you the same amount. So I am trying this, I have already applied this policy to this very response. So hope I would get one dollar tomorrow when I check my myLot earnings. Thanks in advance.

I've also been running a few experiments, and have found that by making sure I add tags to each response and discussion I start earns me more money. I was only able to do a few posts yesterday (4 or so) because I was so so busy, yet I still managed to make 46 cents from it. People said oh, don't bother with keywords when you're responding to other peoples posts, but I have found that it boosts earnings for sure. I'm not sure that I could do responses with at least 10 sentences every time lol, but I do try my best to make sure I don't type in just two or three sentences. I mean heck, if you want to leave a quality response, you do have to at least put the effort in lol. I'm going to try what you suggested though. Make my responses longer AND add keywords to see how that goes. Thanks for the tips!
26 Mar 07
I was also adding tags... so maybe that also had something to do with it.

Good for you!I do know that quality works in mylot and I am glad that works.I have had similar experiences myself.I hope your experience helps people here.

Wow, well after reading through your first 45 responses it seems that nothing is clear about the earning system at mylot. Everyone seems to have their own views on what makes the most money. I do think it makes sense that a response has to be of reasonable length. Too many people reply with just a few words instead of a proper response. I don't think that actual punctuation comes into it though as there are so many people on here whose English is a second language, it's my one and only language and I don't think my punctuation is that good!! I also think that we should all think about our topic of discussion and the way it is worded as sometimes there's nothing to reply to and then people wonder why they didn't get any responses. But definitely quality wins over quantity!

That's great that you got that much. I still am finding that it's hard to reach close to that amount on a consistant basis. The other day I didn't have a whole lot of time to spend on here so I only made like 12-15 responses. I put a lot of thought into them and most of them were over 8 or so lines long but I only made around 30 cents so I didn't notice anything different in getting paid more because of the quality or length.

That really is Interesting. Do you suppose the whole counting thing is based on punctuation. Perhaps we are not supposed to really figure it out? Maybe we are just suppoed to play along. I typically write responses that are several sentences long. But there must be more to it. Perhaps it is the number of characters, or the number of lines. One day soon I will take a day and specifically try your formula, just to see if it works. This is the ninth sentence in this reponse. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

That is some useful information. I always wondered how they calculated the earnings for postings. Some days I get rated best response three or four times and I only make a quarter. Other days, I don't get any best response but I make more. I think the most I've ever made was a dollar or two. It's hard to think of what else to type to meet your ten sentence criteria, lol! What made you conduct such an experiment? I think it was a great idea. I can't wait until I reach 500 posts and I can cut and paste. I try to keep everything short since I cannot go from word to the browser. Thanks for the info!

Thanks for sharing this useful information, it seems this strategy works. I've seen other people talking about this, and i tried it. The result turns to be not bad. I'm wondering that quantity really does not matter in mylot, what works is quality. So every memeber in mylot should try to post high quality discussions, at the same time with good punctuation. Wish everyone here can earn more from on. good luck to everyone.

I'm not usually the person who posts long responses although I do usually use good grammar and puncutation. I guess I don't really have much to say because this is my first day here. Nice tip though. I'll keep that in mind for the future.
