I have always shied away from deodorant/ anti perspirant sticks cos they stifle perspiration and obstruct a normal body process and since they ALL contain aluminium, are harmful especially to women - its been proven they can lead to Breast cancer! Its a wonder they are not dragged off the shelves, cos there's more to life than smelling good! But I have juggled with bo a couple of times and have had to run to the toilet and use a wet tissue to get freshened up and if out of a toilet, I was in a predicament..Recently found a crystal stone which is apparently safe and blocks bacteria from working on perspiration to make the odor...tried it for 3 days and I can't believe how super fresh it keeps me! Anyone here know about this awesome option?

I've been using a crystal, salt based deodorant for a couple years now. It worked great up until recently. I am 8 weeks pregnant and it has stopped working since I became pregnant. I have to assume it's the changes pregnancy causes not the product since it did work so well for so long. I'm going to try a witch hazel & essential oil mix someone told me about next.

I think you refer to the aluminium potassium sulfate, or alum. you can check infos here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alum even if there's 'aluminium' in it, it's not harmful. The 'bad' aluminium in deodorants is the aluminium chlorohydrate. In the Alum stone, it's aluminium sulfate. Indeed it works like a miracle when it comes to perspiration. I have myself perspiration problems with my feet, which often gets me skin problems. The only way I found to prevent this (besides wearing cotton socks only and buying shoes that let the foot "breathe") was with this stone. I roll the wet stone on the plant of my feet in the morning, and they keep rather dry all day long. And besides being a wonderful thing with perspiration, it is also a powerful cure with razor cuts. If you cut yourself while shaving, u apply the stone on the cut for a few seconds and voila, the bleeding stops. I would recommend to everyone to use this stone! not only is it cheap, but it lasts almost forever!!! and it's natural too. DON'T THINK ABOUT IT LONGER PPL!! BUY IT!!
