My house is...comfortable. It used to be frightening until we moved to a bigger house. My mother's house has always been pristine. My sister's place is the same way...so how did I get to be so messy? I have three children and I clean and clean and clean yet when hubby comes home, he looks around the place and sighs because it's not up to his standards. He compares our house with our pastor. What he fails to recognize is that there aren't any children in his pastor's house and there's just two adults: the pastor and his assistant. She cooks and cleans for him and he just studies and makes money. Yesterday, hubby asked me if I cleaned or not just as he was driving to work on the pastor's yard. I felt hurt by that because I don't tell him how to do his job, why is he telling me? If I can't get to every single room in the house, put away the laundry, do some more, clean the dishes, wash the floors and do the yard as well as cook and clean up some more, than I have a darn good reason for it! It used to be that I was cleaning and scrubbing like mad because he had two jobs. Now he's back down to one and he hasn't lift a finger to help.

I know how you feel. My house looks lived in as I have two young children, but I feel like I work my butt off and it isnt up to his standards. But does he do anything about it? nope...So, oh, well. But it isnt dirty, just not one of those pristine homes that doesnt look like anyone lives there. I dont want to live in a house like that anyway.

I pride myself on my home's cleanliness, I am forever cleaning and making sure everything is spotless, I hate seeing rubbish around, we have four cats so they generate a lot of hair, sometimes I even go around picking the bits up by hand, I'm not quite obsessive but I hate living in a pigsty and clutter, I have a housemate who leaves his socks around which drives me to distraction. People drop in unannounced and I have no problems because I know they have nothing to fear LOL!

How clean my house is probably depends on what day of the week it is, haha! I would have to say my house is always clean, it may be a ittle messy but it's not dirty. People always say my house is so clean but it's really homey and comfortable. I don't think it's realistic to keep a perfect house when you have kids and work. I'm sure there othe people who will disagree with me but this is just my opinion.

we live in a very comfortable house, everything is neat and clean, but you can sit anywhere,it is not cluttered as i hate clutter, and things are where they belong i guess i got that from my mother as she taught us its ok to use things but everything has a place and when your done with it put it back i do have one habit i cant go to bed at night with dishes in the sink for some reason i would hate for someone to come in and see a sinkfull of dishes.

I have just bought a book called How Clean is Your House? I really like it. It has given me good ideas like how to clean my stainless steel kitchen and bathroom bins. They always seem to look dirty. I am trying to get my windows to look very nice and clean as well. This is not easy because my dogs are always jumping up at them. Also my dogs can be naughty on my sofa with muddy paw prints. So I try to stop them going on it by placing books on it. People often hate sitting on it becuse of this! My home is comfortable apart from this. I am working hard on my clutter clearing. I'd like to have a place for everything, and have everyting in its place.

My house is very clean today since yesterday I spent the evening cleaning. Guests feel very comfortable here. They always tell me that my house is really clean, but I am good at hiding clutter ect. Now....my kids rooms are a different story. I feel that they have their own rooms and they should be able to keep them how they like. I just shut the doors when I go by if I think it is too messy.
