If you could be anyone in this world

Since I was a little girl, I always wanted to know what it would be like to be someone else. If you could change places with someone for just one month, who would it be and why? The best answer will have to have an explanation for your choice. I would like to trade places with Angelina Jolie, She is an actress, beautiful and I always wished I could act. She also has a heart of gold, and has adopted various children, I would love to feel what it is like to be an actress and travel the world and be so caring as she is.

This is a tough question to answer. I thought and pondered . . . and didn't come up with much. If it was a matter of looks/appearance, my choices would be Stevie Nicks or Catherine Zeta-Jones, I guess. As far as the hubby I would have, I can't think of anyone other than my own hubby that I'd want to be with. I know - I'm boring!! LOL That said, I do think Harrison Ford is HOT, but do I want to be Calista Flockhart? No. I'd love to be skinnier, but not quite THAT skinny. I like my life. It is not perfect by any stretch. I have debts, but I don't want to be a millionaire. I'd like to have a bigger house, but that would mean more to clean or to have somebody else clean. The friends and family I have are the ones I'd like to keep. Sure, they get on my nerves at times, but who's to say the friends I'd have being someone else would be as loyal as the ones I have now? Then, there's Buster, my cat. I couldn't stand to be without him either!!

I am reading your reply after posting mine. I agree so much with you, and think yours is an excellent post! While I would like to improve my life, I'd want it to still be MY life.

This may sound boring to you,But I would love to change places with my mom for a month. She's not in the best of health, and so I would like to take that burden for her, Besides she's the most beautiful person inside and out that I know.

If I could trade lives with anyone, i'd probably trade it with a poor child in Africa...I know, it sounds weird, and most of you must be like "yah right". But i thought this through, and here's why. If i'd trade lives with a celebrity, or someone rich, it would only remind me how my life actually sucks, when i'd get back to reality, and i'd spend the rest of my life wishing I could be that person, or equally rich and/or famous. Now if i trade lives with a poor African child, it will be rough for that month, yes, but when i'd get back to my "boring" middle class life, i would appreciate everything i have, even if it's small. I'd spend the rest of my life feeling lucky..lucky to be healthy, lucky to be alive, lucky to have a home, and food. This would be a happy life. Come to think of it, just writing this down, makes me realize that we are lucky to be just who we are.

Wow, that's really profound, jewel. Of course, we all know that there are always people worse off than we are, yet, how much more impressive would that lesson be if we actually lived the life of the deperate, for even just a amonth? Talk about counting your blessings and a whole new level of humility. I think, at least for today, that I will not complain so much about my own middle-american circumstances. Thanks, I really wasn't expecting such a 'brain-nudge'!

Given the chance to be someone else for 1 month I will choose to be queen elizabeth (even she is old lol!) I think becoming a queen lies a great responsibility and more decision making and challenge you being a tough woman full of power. There are many things I will do as a queen most of all to aid poor country and open migration to skilled individual from other country as well as lower taxes of my country.

My choice would be Mother Teresa because she walked away from everything for something she believed in. She was only about four feet tall on the outside, but a giant on the inside. She made a difference in the world. She did what she felt she was called to do; and she did it with love.

Well this is an easy one for me. I would want to be any billionaire in the world. That way I could help out many people other then myself. I could care less about looks and all that but I wish I could do so much more for certain programs that need funds. I believe in helping out everyone I just dont have the resources to do it.

Very Good Question! It is the human nature that one wants to be or to be like someone, with whom one is very inspired or attracted towards! In some cases, it can also be taken as the feeling of the want of something that one lacks in. I mean, somebody wants to be someone, or like someone who has something that he/she doesn't, and wishes if he/she could have that with him/her. For instance, a poor man may wish to be Bill Gates, the richest person and like that. Well, in my case, I would first like to tell that I love Angelina Jolie and the beautiful beauty that she has been gifted by God! So, I would like to have been Brad Pitt, whom Jolie is dating these days and planning to share her life with!

At the moment i don't want to be anybody, i am satisfied with what i have and what i am. But in my younger years i always wanted to be somebody else to go around places helping people and at the same time knowing and exploring different culture. I always wished to be Nicole Kidman and anjelina Joli also once but not now.

I don't really think I would want to be anybody else. Some lives look so easy, or so glamourous. Or as you say, she is able to do so much----------but I just think I want to stay me. I had a long time learning to be me, and what a waste to be a copy of someone else, know what I mean? Just from the stuff of yours I have read here on my lots, I think you are a super interesting person yourself.

I think at one point and time we've wished we could be someone more popular, beautiful and wealthy. Right at the moment I wish I could be anyone else but me, due to serious health issues. As for your ending remarks I want to remind you that it sounds like you do have a heart of gold and by your message to me I know you are very caring. Just some food for thought winterose... Thank You

My choice would be my mom. In my opinion she has a great life. She is still madly in love with her husband and he is still madly in love with her. They were childhood sweethearts and after twenty-seven years they are still going strong. They do everything together and they enjoy one another's company. They like doing the same things such as, walking, bike riding, going to malls, etc. My mom also has great friends that are there for her in a heart beat. She works at a great office that allows her the things she needs. She works with very compassionate people that have come to be her friends. My mom of course has great kids, me and my brother. I just think it would be great to by my mom, and that's why when I grow up, I hope to be at least half the woman she is now!

I guess if I could be anyone, I would choose to be myself. If I were someone else I would not be conscious of my self and the fact that I am being that someone else. God made me who I am, I need to work more on being who He wants me to be rather than envying who someone else is. If you want to be as caring as Angelina - then pretend you are...if you pretend it long enough, you will be.

I think that I would learn the most by being my husband for a month. What is it like to be him? Why does he think/feel/react the way that he does? I think that if I spent a month being him, in body, mind and soul, I would understand, empathize and respect him on a whole new level. It would do wonders for our communication, especially if during that same month, he got to change places with me! Perhaps, even the opportunity to be any man would help me to undersand them - finally. They seem like such foreign creatures to me!

right now I'm thinking Heff maybe. He has a wife and all those girlfriends I would get the girls from hippiegoddess.com website instead though Playboy would look VERY different !!!!!! Hairy girls of all shapes and sizes without makeup, etc. It would be soooooooooo nice to have 12 girlfriends. The two I have been messing with seem unattainable, even though one of them is my wife. Time for new search strategies and lower standards I think.
