so disappointing

I went to Bugaboo Creek today, to hand in an application. I ended up there for over an hour being interviewed. The first manager that sat down with me seemed to really like me. He wanted me to start training as a hostest this week if possible, but he needed the other manager to interview me, too, to see how he liked me. I know at least one, if not both of them, said at one point that they were looking for hosts and servers.
So I talked to the other manager, and he didn't seem to like me as much. He asked me questions pertaining to hypothetical situations, and said I got all the answers correct. Then he had me take one of those personality tests. I thought I did well on it. I didn't answer yes to any of the anger managment questions, about whether or not I wanted to hit someone, or to the questions about whether or not I was depressed, or whether or not rules were for stupid people and not me.
I hand in the test, he scores it, and all of a sudden is like "you tested very well, we have no openings for hosts because we just hired 2 people, your application is at the top of the pile in case they don't work out or a space opens, we'll give you a call, good luck finding a job if it doesn't work out with us, good bye." It just seemed to end so abruptly. I really thought I had gotten the job. It was so disappointing.

Sorry you didn't get hired straight away. This sounds very strange that the second manager told you there were no openings but the first one wanted you to start training next week. Maybe they were still interviewing just in case the hired people don't work out. I work as a waitress and can tell you that many people who start working at the restaurant don't stay very long as some people just aren't cut out to do this work or the new person quits because they don't like the work. Hang in there and don't give up hope. If you don't get this job, I'm sure you'll find something soon as long as you keep looking and don't give up. Hugs to you and Good Luck :)

I'll keep my hope up a little, but it just seems like they were giving me the brush off by saying that I tested well, and my application was at the top of the pile. I handed in applications to 4 other places, though, so hopefully one place will call.

If one of them calls you for a date..don't be surprised...one of the oldest scams for getting girls..the "old interview trick" when there isn't a job at all...they all come in..you quiz them..maybe even ask personal stuff...which they almost all answer...great way to screen out the ones that dont meet your criteria...not saying that was what happened...but bet your bottom button...IT DOES HAPPEN!!!!

haha, I don't think that'll happen. I don't think they would have had me take the stupid personality test if that's all they wanted. I think the change was just because of something on my personality test, maybe, as much as I don't want to think it so.

That's rather odd. Maybe they felt you had scored too well on the test? Maybe they were expecting some answers dealing with anger and what not? Maybe they felt you were really trying to 'work the system' so to speak so you'd get the job? Whatever the case may be, that's just a little too strange.

yeah, I figure it must have had something to do with the test, which kind of sucks. Because it wasn't until after the test that is became all rushed, and "we don't have any openings" and such. But hopefully I'll get a job somewhere else.

I feel like something might have been wrong with my test or something, because it was as soon as it was scored that everything changed. It's just been bugging me all night. I want to know why they would keep me there so long if they supposedly had no spots open as a hostess.
