what's in a name?

What is your name? Do you like what you have now? will you change it, given a chance? or will you stick with it? Does your name has a special meaning? a combined name of your folks maybe? Do you refer to baby names guidebook and look up its meaning when you name you kids? Or are you the one who is creative that can come up with unique names?What do your friends call you? Do your love one calls you by other name for endearment? Just like what they say.....a rose is still a rose even when called by any other name.What's in a name really...?

My mother named me Amanda after a country song. I would love to change it to Andy. I don't know why. I just think it's a spunky name that fits my personality more.
I named my son Gabriel after the angel, his middle name is Alexander after my grandfather(my mentor).
For my whole pregnancy my baby was going to be called Oscar. I picked this name because I wanted something original and strong but as soon as he was born I changed my mind and named him Gabriel. If I had've had a girl I would've called her Natelie Grace, because it's soft and feminine and pretty. If I ever have another baby he would be called Joel or Tiberias, or Merek, or William James.
