Hehehe I couldnt stop laughing after I finally indulged my curiosity and checked the lyrics for a System of a Down song . I liked the music of the song , but I kept hearing " Mateeba tells me what to do " , thinking Mateeba must be some kind of god or demon ! Ahahahah.
Do you sometimes like a song without understanding the lyrics ? Do you still like it after checking the original lyrics ?

I can't say that I've heard this song, so am not sure how you get "mateeba" from "my tape worm", but yes, I misinterpret words sometimes, not just in songs but in conversations, too.
(As an odd aside, I dreamt last night that *I* had a tapeworm but it ran away!)

Hello barbara , nice to hear from you ! Its from a song called " needles " , this verse is almost growled by the singer so I never could get what he was saying clearly , plus tapeworm would never have occured to me as a possibility ! Anyway Im still laughing at the idea of a tapeworm inside me telling me what to do ! Im happy your dream had a happy ending !

Yeah , the lyrics go on to say repeatedly "Pull the tapeworm out of your as* " , I think the tapeworm is used figuratively to symbolize how we are controlled by our appetites and greed (since a tapeworm is inside your body driving you to eat more and more , and then to go to the bathroom " I , cant deny , all the stomach pains ...... ")
The song is "needles" from their "Toxicity" 2001 album .
