Small changes

I have been thinking a lot about small changes we can all make to help the environment. These are the kinds of things that take very little effort but, when done by a lot of people or for a long period of time, really start to make a difference. I'll start the list, please add any ideas you can think of. 1. Turn off your work computer when you leave in the afternoon, especially over the weekend. 2. Replace one of your household cleaners with a more eco-friendly alternative. Vinegar or baking soda do the trick for most things. 3. Bring a refillable bottle of water or a reusable coffee cup at least one day a week instead of disposables. 4. Unplug your phone chargers, laptop chargers, and other converters when not in use. I have more suggestions in this vein on my blog at http://www.writingup.com/story3girl. Please share your ideas, so we can all make the world a greener place!

These are great ideas. Also, compact fluorescent light bulbs use 1/4 of the energy of regular incandescent light bulbs. The fluorescent ones cost more, but they last several years, so you don't need to buy as many light bulbs. If people even just replace some of their light bulbs with the fluorescent ones, it helps. I also unplug everything that I possibly can when I go on vacation.

How about use energy efficient cars. Wind and solar power. Everything that the government doesn't want is probably the best for the country.
