Does your mind play tricks on you???

I'm sitting here at my desk, in my condo, all alone and one little noise starts to freak me out. I all of a sudden imagine that someone is in my living room and they are slowly making their way towards me. I know its just my imagination but I can't stop my heart from racing. Does this ever happen to you? Does your mind play tricks on you and make you start to question what you know??

my mind is kinda messed up right now, as i'm going through a difficult period.
hearing noises...hmmm... yes.. whenever i am alone in the house i have the feeling that someone is nearby and ready to break into the house. even i know that it's not like that, but like you said, my mind keeps imagining things. maybe it's normal, i don't really know but what i know is that i would do anything to get rid of this stupid fright of mine.

ya , i lso got some problem like that , some times when i am simply siting i feel that , my brain is working too fast, too fast that i will read every thing very fast , and i dont know what is going to happping , every thing with my mind happens very fast at that moment. and it takes some time befoere it comes to the normal , in fact this happen at any times tha ti wont be prepared for that , i am dealing with this problem for some time
