I am coming up on the 30th anniversary of mine. I was 18, driving in the desert of Arizona and lost control of my car. I was sent through the windshield and ejected over 100 feet from it, which saved my life because I would have been crushed. I left my body and saw amazing, wonderful things that can't be put into a small post. I would like to hear from others who have had these experiences and perhaps willl share my full story at a later time.

I've never experienced this but I have experienced Hypnagogic Hallucinations or sleep paralysis and I find it all to be quite fascinating. I'm Atheist so when it comes to NDEs I look at it as a purely chemical and physical experience. Even though I'm Atheist I do consider myself to be highly spiritual, just in a different way that most people are used to I guess. I did have a dream one evening about flying an airplane (I was becoming a private pilot at the time) and I dreamed I lost control of my airplane. It all felt very real and all I could do was say, "I love you - Mama loves Ashley and Alicia very much," out loud knowing the voice recorder picks up everything said in the cockpit and then my life flashed before my eyes before I crashed. I'm not making light of your story - I just get this and have always been interested in NDEs and OBEs. I hope you find the time to tell us your story one day. I would love to read it. My uncle is 89 and he lost his wife last year. He said she came to him in a dream and appeared as if she was in her 30s and they had a long conversation about him letting go or at least moving on with his life. Even though I don't believe in God or heaven per se, I do believe that this was no simple dream. I love hearing experiences like these.

To begin with, I understand your interpretation and I make no global claims about the experience. I've just become aware in the ensuing 30 years that there are hundreds of thousands of others who have had similar experiences that contained evidential material that they could verify later in life - in brief, I was given information about future events that later came to pass, even though the probability of that particular thing happening was not even on the radar screen in 1977. I am retooling the master's thesis I wrote that used this event as its centerpiece, and I will post it probably on a site like AC since it'll be a bit long. I will put it up on April 20th next month, to mark the 30th anniversary of the most influential event of my life. Thanks for contributing, I appreciate the dream especially since flying "dreams" are in my interpretation astral travels, during which our conscious self leaves the physical and has these metaphoric experiences.
