Hello my fellow mylotters I just wanna know how do you travel from your home to your place? Did you catch public transport (bus, train, tram, etc) or you have own vehicle to drive there or just travelling by using bike, etc? From my home I walk for 5 minutes to a tram stop then catch a tram then I drop at the connecting train station then catch a train. Arriving in the city I need catch tram again to get to the next stop then take a three minutes walk to my office building. It sounds far, but I get used to it. Parking in the city is not recommended as it is expensive and crowded with cars so I'll get stuck in the traffic. So how do you travel to your workplace? Thanks :)

I use a few different methods combined. I will drive about a mile to the local commuter train station here in our town. This train takes about an hour to get me from where I like to San Francisco, which is about 40 miles away. After I get to the city, I will hop on a bus to get to my office... I do this five days a week, Monday through Friday.
It's definitely very cost effective. It's about $87 dollars for a monthly pass on CalTrain, the commuter train here, and then the bus is $1.25 for two hours. One of my co-workers usually gives me a ride back to the train station on his way home, so I don't have to pay it again. I save a lot on gas, not to mention the rising costs of parking within San Francisco.
It's also good because it gives me time to relax on the train, do some school reading or just listen to music and zone out if I choose. It's an awesome way to travel.
