Business owners Millionaires or losers?

So with the US economy going down the tubes in the current market we are having (or at least here in California) especially with this war that we have no need to still be there. A lot of businesses even CompUSA are shutting down shop. Do you think in the next 3 - 7 years there will be more business closing down or more business millionaires? I am always hearing about business closing but not about small businesses becoming big ones. I am a business owner and it's hard work especially in the a down economy. What is your opinion on owning your own business? Is it the time to start one or keep working for a salary for some other BIG company? Should it be an online business or brick and mortar type?
