I am using Athlon 2800+. I bought it around 2 years ago when it was the best processor available, with 64 bit power, great performance and low price which had no Intel competitor. I am an AMD fanboy and I believe I have made the right decision. But I know the core microarchitecture from Intel is lot better and provides better performance per watt. But that is the way the market goes, it gets on improving every day. But I am very much proud of my system and its performance. It is really good, and I would not regret for my choice. I would upgrade my system with an AMD processor. Maybe from FX series, I am not going to follow the hype and get a conroe.

I currently use Intel P4 2.4ghz processor with Intel 845gvsr motherboard. It has good speed but only problem is it have 64mb graphics card. So some of new pc games not run on my pc.But in case of AMD it does not have inbuilt graphics card so we can buy a good graphics card.

its AMD sempron!i prefer AMD since i am using one.I use AMD because -comparatively cheap -high performance -high stabilty -greater support for gaming i recommned AMD FX 64 bit computing. It has many advantage over intel pentium 4 processors.but i heard that intel pentium duo core2 is much better than other precedures and a like performance with AMD 64.so i f you are going to buy a new computer either you go for AMD FX 64 or Pentium 4 Duo core 2.

Well I'm a dedicated Intel user. I have one of the new Core 2 Duo processors. It's 2.8ghz, but that's 2.8ghz x 2 since it's 2.8ghz per core. It's really fast and can handle anything I can throw at it. Later this year I want to upgrade to the Core 2 Extreme Quad though when the price drops a bit.
