Have you ever felt compelled to 'get even' with someone?

I remember my 1st waitress job shortly after graduation. One day a girl who graduated in the class ahead of me came in with her boyfriend. I barely knew her in school. I guess she told her boyfriend that I was a 'druggie' in school. When I delivered their order he said to me, 'So I hear you were a real pot-head'. This really upset me because I was pretty anti-drug at a time when everyone was doing something or another. But, being a waitress, I had to be polite.
I waited a few months and looked her up in the phone book. I called and when she answered I said, 'Tell you boyfriend he left something at my place the other night and that he can swing by ANYTIME he wants to pick it up'. I knew she wouldn't know my voice and so she started ranting 'Who are you', 'what's your name' and I could tell she was a bit upset. I told her to just give him the message and hung up.
I felt I just had to give her a taste of her own medicine, and I was getting 'even' with her boyfriend for being rude enough to repeat her comment to me, as well as her.
