Lovebirds have huge egos.

Does anyone feel that their lovebirds have huge egos? I have a 2 year old lovebird. When I first got him, I was hoping that maybe he would become friends with my senegal parrot since they are both african species. Now a senegal parrot is more than 2 times bigger than a lovebird, yet when I introduced the two of them, the lovebird attacked the senegal on site. Of course my senegal snapped back and the poor baby lovebird ended up with a small bruise on his beak before I could separate them.
I can't have the lovebird out of the cage at the same time as any of the other birds because he will always try to attack them even though they are all bigger than him. Some of my other birds are even afraid of him. My lovebird has also bitten my sister's cats and the cats ended up hiding under the bed. Lovebirds may be tiny, but they have a lot of self confidence and will try to take on anything.

lol yeah they do indeed seem to be very "full of themselves" they can be quite mean to each other too. females sometimes pluck their male mates..i assume for nest lining.
they have that "little mister big man" syndrome.
