How do we teach kids to not use drugs?

I remember the DARE progam we used at my school. And honestly, it didn't work for most kids. I'm not sure what kind of programs they use now...but I don't think they are working either. I did run across an article today about a man who video taped his death by meth use. He wanted to warn others of its dangerous affects and he didn't want anyone to go through what he went through. The video has already made 500-600 sales. This might be pretty graphic content to show to high schoolers...but I think it would work if they were able to see the real affects of meth rather than just hearing about it. Altho, I don't know if giving kids fear is the best way to teach them either. What are your thoughts?
