Adage-"a short but memorable saying which holds some important fact of experience that is considered true by many people, or it has gained some credibility through its long use." I like everyone, I think, has grown up with adages. For example, 'It is darkest before the dawn.' , 'Every cloud has it's silver lining.' , 'If life hands you lemons, make lemonade.' These are words you are supposed to tell yourself on the bad days. However, the words are a reflection of my culture and my age. I wonder if there are other sayings that reflect the other cultures and ages represented by the variety of cultures and ages of mylot.com members. I look forward to any discussion.
