I so wish that Satelite Television would permit us to choose our programs ala cart. Say a flat rate fee, then pay so much for each channel in this category, so much for each channel in that category - Then everyone would get just what they want, and not be paying big bucks for 195 channels that they only watch a half a dozen out of! This is why we do not get Satelite television...and instead have only 2 channels and neither of them very well.

I so agree with you. We have said this for years but they think they can make more money if they set the packages. They think that people will get a higher package to get that extra channel that they watch

yeah, but I think they would get more customers if they would offer this option. And with the flat rate first and then so much for this category of channels and so much per channel in this category it should not hinder them any. OR.... if that does not work - have your package deal where you choose 2 from this category 8 from this category 6 from this category the premium memberships would allow you more choices per category. For instance we would not feel a need for any ESPN type channels, let alone 6 of them! but if The Movie Channel was on as an option from the same category we could choose that.

ahhh but then, they wouldn't be making any money.. I have so many channels and had to add different "packages" just to get the ones I want. Instead of asking me what channels I want and charging me all those in one package. I have one for basic which I watch maybe 4 channels, one I had to add so my one son could see Discovery channel, another so my other son can have the cartoon channels, the one with Showtime, which includes like 10 channels and I only want Showtime for one show I like...lol and on and on...

That certainly would be nice. We have cable and it's the same thing - we pay full price but only watch maybe 5 or 6 of the 30+ channels. Same thing for us though without 'something' we get 2 channels and nothing on either of them is worth watching 90 percent of the time. I'm surprised someone didn't come up with this idea sooner.
