Wedding Cakes

I think I have made just one rich fruit cake in my whole life .. I'm not keen on such a heavy rich cake and truthfully I don't know anyone who really enjoys it ..

Sounds like it tasted wonderful. No I have not made a wedding cake to date, but it would be something I would want to do. I had someone make the grooms cake and it turned out wonderfull.

Well actually I am a prity good cook but have never attempted to cook a wedding cake, oh that sounds lovely the way you made your wedding cake and decorated it with flowers. Oh dear you should of covered the cake with something so that it would not all melt it must of looked beautiful, it sounds yummy.

Well this sounds like a hobby or talent that you could put on a resume! I've made a couple of wedding cakes. Lots of pressure because they were for my sons weddings. I kept it fairly simple and elegant. The turned out just wonderful. One was a chocolate rum, the brides favorite and the other was a carrot cake. I was proud of the results both times.

I have never made a wedding cake before, but I did learn how to decorate cakes back in high school when I got a job at an ice cream shop. We made ice cream cakes there and a few of the workers were trained, and since I had used a pastry bag before, I got to learn. Now cake decorating is more of a hobby of mine and I try to make special cakes for my friends' birthday parties or other special occasions. I think it is great that you've made wedding cakes. I worry that my skills aren't quite up to it. If you have any pictures, you should post them so that we can all admire your work.
