Boredom gets the better of us sometimes. What is it that gets you bored about anything or anyone? How do you deal with it?

i can't say that i've become bored with other people, but i do get bored with repetitive things, especially things that don't require any thinking. i'm bored when i have nothing to do as well as when i do the same thing too much. so i give myself breaks often. fortunately for me i have many different hobbies so i alternate between them, so that when i get sick of one, i move onto the next one :)

You give me the impression that you are a happy person. It's good that you know how to make use of those hobbies to cope with boredom. I'll be considering this, too. Thank you so much.

actually, the only thing that gets me bored is when i'm stuck inside the house without anything to do at all. so, if not mylotting, i do the chores or watch some movies at home. just doing nothing really makes me feel bored and useless.

That's right, maryannemax. The true attitude of someone who lives the city. There are many around I know, who do just this, too.

Yes I get bored sometimes. Not too often though thank goodness. I hate being bored, because you get restless, and antsy, and nothing excites you. I don't need a lot of excitement in my life, but the day after day, nothing new can get to me. I however, try to talk my self out of it. I have found that when i feel bored, I am not thinking positively, and I am a believer of being positive. Feeling bored and having something go wrong just to break up the boredom, is not worth it in the long run. I hope I am making sense.

That's the way I se boredom to be, too. A very undesirable state to be in. There are many ways of fighting boredom. There are two I know which are very effective, one will be to go to bed and have that most needed rest or, get those hands on the keyboard and do mylot if sleep becomes elusive. Enjoy.

I do feel bored often enough too. And I understand it is not that great a feeling. I just just change my routine so that life would be different. Be careful though as boredom is sometimes the start of depression.

People who are suffering from insomnia have so much time in their hands for boredom. I suggest that you try taking sodium ascorbate to reduce the problem. I believe there are good readings about this item in the internet. Try www.sodiumascorbate.com. You will find and item there about sodium ascorbate and insomnia.

I get bored with nothing better to do especially routine work. It is not that there is nothing to do. In fact, there is a lot of things to do, just that nothing seems worth doing. I will just go watch TV, look for something to munch, or drink iced cold water.

I think I had experienced it somehow. This feeling coming to us like we do not feel like doing anything at all for the moment. Sit back and relax thing comes to mind while the eyes wander at those so many things to do. The work seem endless and boundless, just thinking about all those gets one bored at times, yes, I get it.

i usually gets bored when my brother-in-law begins to tell stories when we are in a group. he does it all the times that's why i have to shun myself away whenever he is around. he's telling the same stories over and over again. i get also bored when i am forced to wait for a longer period at the airport because the flight was delayed. i really hated that experience. good a friend of mine was there, too so we had a chat. in general, i think that which is being repeatedly done makes you bored. there should be at least variations on your actions. don't just focus on one activity.

I exactly know what you mean by someone telling the same story over and over. I know one who does that, too. It surely tells of a story where he is either the life of the story as though he is superman, or telling a big accomplishment of a favorite child or the best friend. So boring stories, when will they ever end.

I have to Thank You for this thread because I've just learnt something about myself . I guess I'm pretty versatile, I can't really say I get bored. I'm not a big TV fan and I know I will a lot of times just get up and do something else, so obviously I must have been bored with watching TV but outside of that I can honestly say I don't get bored there seems to always be something to do. Maybe that's because I'm a woman they say a womans' work is never done. Thank You And Take Care...

Thank you for your thoughts, grandmaof2. You are right, women have so much to do at home. It is true that those piles of work at home are never 100% accomplished no matter what we do and no matter how much we work. We rest when we get tired and take breathers when we feel the need for one.

I easily get bored when someone keeps on repeatedly talking something that really annoyed myself.I usually get out of the place where he was in and go find some place where he couldn't bothered me anymore. There's always some people who always find ways of annoying someone.
