disturbence while playing any sound or audio

i don't understand a simple problem that my computer seems to have these days.It had never happened before till i installed a new combo-drive (DVD-R/CD-RW) ;i already have a CD WRITER (so that makes it two drives ). Maybe its an hardware installation problem or just a software prob , i can't seem to solve it . whenever i start to play something while using either of the two drives , the music starts to slow down in speed and some kinda disturbence starts . and when i don't hear any kinda music while using the cd/dvd drives , everything is fine . let me know if any solution comes to mind .

Have you got the master/slave setting setup correctly, If there on the same IDE cable. One drive needs to be set as master and one as slave. Or if possible try using two seperate IDE cables for each drive.

hi well i agree with u , maybe thats the problem . i check ed everything that i could think of, saw everything that i could see and sometimes twice but doesn't seem to solve the problem . The thing u told me hadn't gone thru my mind and i think that is the problem . thanks i will try that .
