I came up with this topic looking to see what days I get paid on in April. I saw I got paid on Friday the 13th..lol I hope I get my paycheck..lol (just playing) However, there are a lot of believers of that "unlucky" day. I will admit long ago when I heard little things like, "Bad Luck day, watch out" I would really pay attention to what I did or said...Gotta love your friends at school right..lol As I've gotten older, I find it funny when they day comes around and sometimes hear my peers at work talk about what happened to them or what they hope don't happen. I have to laugh. Even my son will come home and say something about Friday the 13th..lol It's just another day, if it's meant to happen it's going to happen no matter what day it is, that's how I feel.. Did you know that Greece and Spain have a Tuesday the 13th and it's takes the same role as Friday the 13th...very interesting... So today's question is are you a believer of bad luck on that Friday? Is it a day that really don't bother you at all? How did this day even come about, the history behind it, anyone know? If Friday 13th has been unlucky in the past and you would like to share your story, please do...

Oh Oh I'm due for a pay out too so I guess if it doesn't work out for us we can share the same crying towel LOL I have never really believed that Friday the 13th was of any significance but I know there's hundreds of people who would argue the fact. I just hope the day goes well for everyone reading this and stay safe and Take Care...

I have read of people fearing this day and taking special precautions to guard themselves against bad luck associated with it. I have no bad memories of 13th or friday. They have been good to me.In fact,in our parts friday is believed to be a good day , but 13th is seen as an unlucky number.I ,personally don't have any problems with either and find it just a mental barrier in the believers, though I respect their belief.

I don't think I've ever had a really bad Friday 13th. If anything, I have had some really good ones. The best one that comes to mind was a couple of years ago when I was at a pretty low point in my life. Nothing was going right and I had just lost my job. The Friday 13th was my last day at the job, and that lunchtime I was feeling that it really was an unlucky day, I went to the shops and, in a moment of madness, bought a lottery scratchcard. I put it in my purse and left it there until that evening. That night, having left my job and wondering how I was going to manage until I got another job, I dug out the scratchcard and revealed a £500 winner.

I am one cranky fellow so Friday the 13th does not disturb me. In fact 13 is one of my favorite numbers and I love anything associated with it. If people say Friday the 13th is an unlucky day, I would say it is a lucky day for me, ha! ;-) Sometimes, I think it is all in the mind - this lucky or unlucky thingy... it's just your own imagination and your thoughts come to fruition. :P

I don't let Friday the 13th bother me; I am slightly superstitious but this isn't one of them. having said that, I won't go out of my way to take chances on that day.... As for the origin - I think I've heard of two or three reasons. There were 13 people at the Last Supper and the Crucifixion of Christ is supposed to have taken place on a Friday. Also, Eve was supposed to have offered Adam the Apple from the Tree of Knowldge on a Friday. A more recent explanation was that on Friday 13th October, 1307, there was a massive purge of the Knight's Templars by the French King - the destruction of one of the great Christian institutions of that time. The Greek Tuesday 13th superstition hails from the sack of Constantinople in 1204. A later sacking of Constantinople also took place on a Tuesday, thus reinforcing the belief that Tuesday was a bad day in teh eastern Orthodox / Gree Orthodox Church.
