Do you think children must be allowed to choose their own clothes?

Do you advise your children about what to wear or do you impose them the clothes? When you buy something for them do you hear their requirements or not?

My children are ages 5, 7, and 8 I take them to the store with and help them choose what to buy. We both look at the clothing and decide what wouldbe best . I tell them what I like and don't like about a garment , they tell me if the will wear it or not . Then we decide together if we should get it. So far doing it this way has worked for us. Who knows what will happen when they become teenagers.

i dont have children yet but i think parents should advise children to choose their clothes. they are not that much experienced that they can buy anything.its the duty of a parent to tell, guide their children in what is wrong and what is right. they are innocent they donno how to bargain , or what is good or what is bad, it is the duty of the parent.

I dont have any children but were all young once. I would like to choos my own clothes and so would assume children would want to too. I dont see anything wrong in that as long its something i could afford and not too outrageous,

Children seem to know what they want at a very early age now. This is mainly due to the media and television. However, if you are paying for their clothes and want to make sure that their clothes are suitable, then you have the last word. I would, however, listen to what they ask for and try to find a compromise
