I was wondering what your feelings are about the AT&T and BellSouth merger? I felt like when they said it would bring better service to their customers that that is just for the birds. I feel that way even more now. The hospital that I work for lost their primary phone lines yesterday morning about 11:00 and at this time have still not gotten the service back yet. Every time I try to dial up on the box I get my work from to see if the dictation system is back up yet I get the following recording: "This line is busy. For a charge of $1.25 we will continue to try the number for you for the next 30 minutes." I think that is outrageous. Unfortunately I have to have the phone line for my work and for the computer modem to have access to get my work done. Otherwise I would say goodbye. My family and I use our cell phones for making calls. If I could use a cell phone to get my work done I would do that too, unfortunately I can't.

Oh, I agree. The merger might have been good for the company, but NOT for the customers. I don't know why they had to merge, but I'm sure it made money sense to them. Only they don't have to pay with consequences, normal day to day people have to instead.

That is right. Usually things like this end with a lot of people losing their jobs. I hate it when things like that happen. Our economy is bad enough as it is without more people losing their jobs and their families having to suffer from it.
