I will answer this from a woman's point of view. When I wanted to get married, I wanted to marry someone who could make enough money so that we would live comfortably as well as someone who I could get along with and have the physical looks that I was attracted to. It is okay to fall in love, but when that is all you have, then it soon disappears. I wanted someone to depend on. It is also good to be friends with people, but you do not live with your friends everyday and you do not depend on your friends to pay the bills, the rent, or the mortgage, it is up to you and your spouse.

Certainly I do not think it is any shame to want security. It is definitely no crime. When 2 persons love each other, I believe security plays a bit part in further development of the relationship. I for one do not look down on such people.

It is not a crime. It is just caution. Let's admit it, love alone won't be able to feed hungry mouths. I applaud those who take security in to the equation of love. Security could be different things---financial, emotional, physical, etc.
