in the philippines, a male teacher hostaged a busload of kids aged 3-7. his demand? that the 145 poor kids in his school be assured of proper education. the hostage drama lasted for 10 hours. what can say about this?

Quite a bizarre to see things happening like this although he has some point in his demands, but no matter how good his intentions were it is gravely wrong and should never be done at all.

i agree. he should have tried other conventional means but maybe he was desperate to get the attention of the government. the end does not justify the means, after all. :)

My personal belief is that he's suffering from mental illness. When I saw him on TV and studied his body language, I knew his having a dillusion. The whole incident was very frustrating, imagine involving 145 INNOCENT kids into such a dramatic hostage taking. If his on his right mind, wouldn't he be worried of the trauma that it might cause to these children?

mr. ducat did the same thing before with two catholic priests whom he hostaged because he knew of the corruption in the church. was he nuts? maybe he was, may be he wasn't, but one thing is clear, he has caught the attention of the people in the government. i agree he should have tried more peaceful means instead but as you must know, the current government is not at all that enthusiastic about the plight of the poor filipinos. let's just all be thankful that all the kids were released and none of them showed any indication that they were traumatized by the incident. :)
