I am interested in getting a new dog and I want to know what dogs tend to be the top chosen breeds and why.

First and foremost when considering a new dog you need to evaluate a few key elements of your life. Such as how much space you have, and how much time you have to devote to the training and attention needs of the breed that you are considering. As well as what activities you enjoy that may include your new four legged family. Outside of the above factors, there really is a good reason Labrador Retrievers are rated so high amongst go breeds. they have a gentle nature, and are generally easy to train, but most impressively is there sense of loyality to there family. Without thought I have seen labs risk there own lifes if they think there famiy is in danger, which makes them truley amazing. Another breed that is simply fun and friendly is the beagle. They have a fun sense of life, and a healthy sense of curiousity. They are a little more complicated to train, when compared to the lab, but still are generally easy to train in most areas. Beagles are loyal to there families, and there master, and do not take likely to strangers. Both of these breeds are excellent companions especially if you like the outdoors. And love dogs with big personalities.

I love Doberman's, I have had them all my life. They are smart, loyal, affectionate and funny. But I would not recommend them to first time owners.

I love Saint bernard. It is one of the most intelligent breed .I have two dogs a boxer and a saint bernard. The things which boxer learned after two months of training, saint bernard learnt those things without any training. So I found it to be one of the most intelligent dog.

I love my BOSTON TERRIER..When I was a child our family dog was a boxer and I loved " Rocky " he would follow me to school go up an down the slide with the children during recess. My husband would not let me get a boxer so we got a Boston Terrier..SHe is very intelligent and full of love she is sitting right by my side now..she sleeps in a basket by my bed and when I come home from work jumps in my arms..She is full of life..Someday I will post a picture. Please let us know what you decide on..Stephanie

I have English Springer Spaniels. They are smart, listed in the top ten smartest working dogs class, they are loyal, they are loving, they are great with kids. I can't imagine having any other type of dog after having these.

Well if you're looking for the most popular, Labrador Retrievers and Golden Retrievers would be the top picks, but it's best to look for a breed that matches your lifestyle and preferences. I like Pembroke Welsh Corgis (big dog in a small package, smart, loyal, eager to please, adorable, easy to train), Bernese Mountain Dogs (happy, beautiful, loyal, eager to please, easy to train, friendly), Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers (compact, smart, easy to train, unique) and Italian Greyhounds (clean, quiet, noble, elegant), but Corgis are the only breed that matches my lifestyle enough to have one.

I love the collie breed. They are a very easy going breed and are wonderful with children. They are very protective of their owners.
