For a toothache in the middle of the night or any other time when you can't get to the dentist right away, Use Ground Cloves. Put it in the hole and all around the tooth. Just wet your finger so the cloves will stick then put it where needed. It really does work. I had infected tooth used it on until could get antibiotics the next day and actually got some sleep that night.

Thankfully, I have not needed to try such remedies before. I am sure it would come in handy for those in such pain though. I would like to urge that regular visits should be made to the dentist. I think once a year should be the bare minimum - and that's depending on your dental condition.

This one's a great suggestion, kathy.. am not an avid fan of dentists too and would love to cure my toothaches at home as much as possible... well, when I had some swollen gums and infected tooth before, I just used some ice and it did pretty well in numbing my gums.. but when the pain still continues I tried another option which is the saltwater gargle..it served it's purpose too. And I have some friends who even used whiskey to somehow get rid of their toothaches.. :P

Oh, many thanks for that Kathy77 and I reckon a lot of others will be very grateful for that. I also use an over the counter remedy, liquid Anbesol by seton scholl healthcare plc It is best to check with your GP that you can use it in conjunction with meds, as I did, but if you have an ulcer it really helps.

Thats a great tip! I did use some clove oil when I had a bad tooth ache some years ago but ended up having a nasty reaction to it and left with blisters on my gums! Thanks for the tip though but a warning to others with sensitivity too - it can cause blisters if you have a reaction to it which can last longer than the toothache itself!

That sounds like a good tip to remember. Where do you get the ground cloves from? A Health Shop perhaps? It would be good to keep something like that in the medicine cabinet - just incase. Thanks Kathy.
