What types of discussions generate the most interest?

I am just curious as to what types of discussions seem to spark the most interest here. None of mine seem to generate the responses that I often see on other topics so I guess maybe I am missing something. I would like a little help so I can be more interesting.

I have noticed that some of the more popular discussions seem to me those that are more poll type discussions. such as do you like..... I think it also has to do with how many people you know on mylot. I am still new here and am learning my way around, so of course i don't have many friends on here as of yet. I hope to broaden that soon and really get more involved.

This is a question I wondered myself since I am pretty new on here. I will keep an eye on the responses.

Controversial topics seem to be the discussions that I have noticed with the most responses. Anything really that gets people's emotions invlolved as well as their belief system seems to be the best.

I think some of the discussions with lots of responses manage this as the topic arouses strong feelings in people. So if someone sees the same topic over and over there is not much interest in answering, for example mylot earnings, lots of questions on this so it gives a chance to make a response but as it occurs so often it is not going to attract lots of views and responses. however there is a discussion going on at the moment that has way over 100 responses and is about a woman whose husband is messing about with a 13 year old girl. It obviously is a subject that arouses a strong feeling, I felt angry reading and responding to it. So although not every disucussion could be like this one it does show that the more emotion you can arouse in people viewing your topic I think the more responses you will get.
