I have a chow, Mo, who is afraid of everyone but me and my daughter. She expecially is afraid of men. When my sons come home to visit, she hides under my bed. One time, my bedroom door was closed, so Mo went and hid under the bed in Dan's room. Dan went to bed later, but kept waking up, thinking he heard someone breathing under his bed. He thought it was his imagination, so he would go back to sleep. He was kind of freaking out hearing these sounds. Eventually, Mo finally got the nerve to scramble out from under the bed, waking Dan up. Mo usually like to sleep under my bed, so the next night, I was lying in bed and I listened to her breathing, and it was so funny, it did sound like a person breathing. She snores too, and makes all kinds of funny sounds. I never noticed it before because I'm used to her. No wonder that was a pretty weird and funny experience for Dan. Does anyone have any funny dog stories to share?

That is so cute. I am just imagining that dog. He sounds like the dog on Get Fuzzy cartoon. I don't really have any funny dog stories. However, I used to have a dog named American Freedom and she was an Lhasa Apso with lots of long hair. I used to dress her up and dresses. We also had a cat at the same time. Fifi, the cat, I used to put shirts on her. They were good buddies and they would drink out of the same dish.

Having heard a Chow 'sleeping' I'm not surprised he was 'freaked out'
I have a field just behind my back garden and every night I and several other dog owners use it. One night my 16yr old male cat decided to follow us, unbeknown to me. He was at the edge of the field and a neighbours dog flushed him out. Instead of running towards the safety of the garden, the cat ran right through the pack of dogs and jumped onto my German Shepherds back! She stood there and every time one of the dogs moved closer both she and the cat growled. It was so funny to see it took us all a while to stop laughing long enough to call the dogs away and the cat rode home in style!
Don't you just love animals!

Thanks for the welcome. Most people seem very friendly on here! I have two cats, the 16yr old and a 4yr old Tabby female and both of them play and sleep with my Shepherd. I've even had a lurcher in the past who lived happily with my cats and never chased them, but he'd spot a rabbit or hare from a long distance and off he'd go! Luckily he never caught them as although fast he was rather 'stupid' and made too much noise to be a hunter.

Hi there! That's a really funny story. Thank you very much for sharing it and making me smile for the first time today. I don't have any funny dog story to share, I'm sorry to say. But I definitely enjoyed reading your post. Have a nice day.

Yes, although mine is a dog and human combo story. I can't get anyone to admit doing it, but last night when I was heading up to bed I stepped over my dog, as usual. He likes to sleep by the back door, which is where we have a shoe rack. Sometimes shoes fall off or get scattered about a bit, but this was unusual! I glanced down at him and he was lying with his head on his front paws, and on both front paws were one of my new Crocs sandals. They are the clog type, and the heel strap was pushed forward, so they must have slid on smoothly.
I just about burst laughing at the sight, and him just sitting there like, "What? I know they are ugly, but oh so comfy!"I have grilled the menfolk but not one of them will admit having put the shoes on him!

Every animal is different, just like humans! Literally!
My darling cat is so scared of anybody who is not direct family who is with her all day and evening. She cuddles with us. But the second anyone (even if they come in regularly like weekly at least or more), she's outa there. You either won't see her, or if she gets quite used to you over the year as a guest or someone who comes (like my sister when she visits), she cautiously might job into the room, and trot out quickly as a kind of tease. :o) So cute though.
A darling I had in the past, was the biggest guest lover, and would rub again, and jump onto, purr, meow to, anybody coming even near our place.
Your do is so cute!
And off the subject, but your credits number is now 2007. When you get to 2008, it's going to be such a second glance to everybody, from the year. :o)
