I am just wondering, how much is just too high bloodpressure when you are having diabetes also? My GP set me on Lisinopril medication to get the bloodpressure down. For his opinion the blood pressure 130/100 is already too high and I am in more risk than another person to get any problems from it. Is that truely happening? I always thought it wouldnt take such a big run at the start, that I can be without medication. Whats your opinion?

High blood pressure is a silent killer with diabetes one should be very careful. Keep pressure 130/90 is ideal. U have to take care of food habits, for me I have avoided eggs/meat, which always keep my pressure 130/80 or 140/90, and I also use one Asa tablet per week. SK107

Ok, you say keep pressure at 130/90 is ideal. And you know that you have to avoid eggs and meat. How did you found out that your bloodpressure is rising when you eat eggs or meat? Or is this just a suggestion from your GP, because of a thing like cholesterol or so? Is it about the acids in eggs or meat. Could you explain me how you come to the point that you know that eggs and meat are not so good for you?

Different people's bodies differ in the way it handles the disorders it incurs, now me for instance, I am diabetic, I take actos and manage mine with diet and exercise. There are many different factors that will play as to why you are having, so many complications so quickly. Diet, exercise routine, weight, age, activity level, family history. Your doctor has right to be concerned, when it comes to blood pressure there is a fine line, too low is no better than too high. The two numbers work with each other as well as your pulse. The top number is within normal ranges, however, the bottom number is too high. The top number should never go over 140 and the lower number should never get over 80. Your doctor knows best what is normal ranges for you and you should never take a layman's advice over your doctors, but high blood pressure is a bad combination when mixed with diabetes. You are at greater risk than most people your age. Whatever advice your gp has given you I suggest you follow instructions to the T.

hey 130/100 mmhg is usualy taken as normal blood pressure. only diastolic is high in this case but not so much like to worry. actualy rough calculation is '100+ur age=normal bp'..systolic. so in my opinion ,no neeed to worry in ur case.

Thanks for sharing...The condition of high bp become chronic in the presence of diabetis mellitus.. It is important to take steps to keep your blood pressure under control. The treatment goal is blood pressure below 140/90 and lower for people with other conditions, such as diabetes and kidney disease. Adopting healthy lifestyle habits is an effective first step in both preventing and controlling high blood pressure. If lifestyle changes alone are not effective in keeping your pressure controlled, it may be necessary to add blood pressure medication

Most time, its my work..with ontime deliveries and work loads. I try to divert mind on music and i feel better. We need to manage hypertension, as it is part of life in busy world. But if we concentrate, we can manage it. I does it through my yoga, listening music and going out on vacation.

I would say that you try not to get blood pressure when you suffer from diabetes. Because to be straightforward, I would say that diabetes and blood pressure are silent killers. I am frankly saying this because I ahve seen my mother suffering frm Blood pressure. If the pressure rises, it may lead to brain damages and paralysis. And in addition if you ahve sugar, it may cause kidney problems. so check and recheck to ahve your pressure and diabetes in control.see to that the BP is maintained at 100+your age and ensure that your sugar does not cross the 140level
