stars score.. what really makes its point up or down.

I have n knowledge on how the score on the star is raised or lowered down? Are mylot users the one doing this or the mylot itself? what is their basis in raising or lowering the points? Will someone tell me? In that way, I can take care of my points.

the way i understand it, as explained in FAQ, users decide your rating. they rate according to the quality of your post or how they like your post. c",)
