Dancing with the Stars - 1st Round Elimination

What's everyone's opinions - was the right decision made? I think the decision was a good one personally. I didn't like her on here. Not that I dont' like her, but there wasn't much confidence there and she was so stiff. Don't get me wrong, I would be a nervous wreck! But someone had to go home. The 2 couples in the bottom places that they showed at the end were the 2 that I wanted eliminated: 1. Shandi & Brian 2. Paulina & Alec I thought both of them just didn't look comfortable nor did they look like they were having a good time. I know a lot of people wanted Billy Ray to be eliminated, but he was having a ball out there and that's part of what I base my decision on at the beginning. I was impressed with so many of the dancing pairs - definitely some high energy routines!

I think Billy Ray should have gone home.. but I am not surprised that he survived and got enough votes to escape the bottom two. I don't think Paulina or Shandi have any real fan base and that is pretty much what you need to do well on the show. Billy Ray might have been having a good time but after watching the first show they guy showed no dancing skills at all. I would think as a performer he would have some dancing ability. He just looks so awkward out there. I do think he did redeemed himself a bit after the second show.. but he has a very long road ahead of him.

I do agree he's got a long road ahead of him. I definitely think he will be one of the next few going home. He's such a big guy, which I never realized until he was on here. He does look very awkward out there dancing because he doesn't seem as flexible. He did a lot better in week 2 than the first week for sure. I agree with the fan base issue - I have to admit that I didn't know much about Shandi and Paulina at all.

I didn't know who Shandi was at all until I heard a commercial for the show. I did know Paulina though... I could never forget when I found out she was marrying Ric Ocasek (the very tall weird looking guy) from the Cars. I remember her from her supermodel days in the 80's too.

I like Paulina,but I think this was a good choice.

I also did like her, but it just didn't seem like this was something for "her". She seemed so awkward on the dance floor and very anxious about something.

I hate that they moved the night that this show is on! Last season it was on wednesdays and thursdays. I teach a class at night for my job, so I don't get to watch tuesday night tv! I'll see it every monday, but won't ever see the elimination nights. Bummer!

I know what you mean about not seeing it - that's why I'm glad I have a DVR :) It makes life so much easier! Just a tip for you...you can watch it online through the ABC website. It's a great thing if you miss it - you can still watch it without taping it! Here's the link: http://dynamic.abc.go.com/streaming/landing It will launch a player and you get to pick the episode. Hope that helps you get to watch it this season! :)
