Do you approve of the colleges who are giving a free education to illegal immigrants? Is that OK with you?

No, that is not ok with me. I have 2 children who are college graduates. They both worked extremely hard to obtain scholarship money to help with the cost. But they are still left with huge student loans to pay off. My son is trying to get his master's now, and there is no money to help him with that, nor for my son in law. He has had to work and pay and borrow as he goes and it's still been about 10 years for him. I think if anyone gets help it should be legal citizens of our country, none of us get a free ride.

And yet, if we think that way, we are nasty people.

No, it isn't OK. For those of us who scrimp and save to go to college, it's a slap in the face. Helping further the cause of a situation that is against the law, makes no sense to me. I know we have other issues in this country, but that doesn't make it right for the government to pay such little attention to it.

Since we have so many gov't workers, I think they can work on more than one issue at a time.

No, I don't approve of colleges who are giving free educations to illegal immigrants. Not at all. Elementary school and possible highschool. But not college. i am totally against that. In my opinion if they want further learning. They need to pay for it themselves. There are so many Americans that would love a free ride to college. Ones that would do rather well but don't quailfy for one reason or other. I don't think it is right to help others without helping our own. Espically illegals. Let them become legal immigrants. Than I have no problem with helping someone get a free education.

No, it is not. Everyone else in the Country has to pay for their education unless they are lucky enough to get a grant or won a scholarship. I have read stories of how America was founded, how people had to work two or three jobs to support their families, and study by night after work and these were legally in America. You see, if you give free education to those who came to the States illegally, the cost of getting a college or university education for the regular citizen becomes higher and it may wind up that the latter may have to forgo higher education so that an illegal can get a diploma.

I don't think it's right for colleges to give free education to illegals. There are plenty of people in this country who are struggling to get an education. Until each and every American citizen is able to reasonably attain a college education, we should not be helping to support illegals. My nephew married a girl from Columbia who worked to support herself through school. I see nothing wrong with that.

My husband is from Algeria and he works hard for everything we have. He never expects anything for free and he is legal. We think people should not be rewarded with a free education for being illegal.
