Dad from Hell

Just the read the news that a Ukrainian swimming coach was caught pushing and striking his daughter who was participating in the ongoing swimming championships for her dismal performance. Its looks really disturbing and more so because her is her own father.
What are your views on parents getting so harsh on children and pressurizing them to perform?

The saddest part of that story was the daughter was 20 years old. That means that she has probably living with that type of parenting most of her life. As a coaches wife I see a lot of parents that seem to really push their children way to hard. I think some of it is the parent is trying to get the kid to achieve where the parent couldn't or they want their kids to achieve as much as they did. It is really sad when a young boy can't look forward to going to play baseball because to him it has become work & no longer fun.
