Elections come and go, but the most controversial one was that of 2006, that there was massive cheating. Will you say that this coming may elections be fair, clean and honest one? Have you lost your faith in the electoral process following the unresolved Garci tapes? If GMA got away with it, will she do it again? Can we blame our people for thinking that way? I want your honest opinion on this...

I used to like GMA when she was still a senator. However, However, her honesty ends when she became the presaident. The day she took over ERap is her first deed of dishonesty. She knew very well that Erap just took a leave and she together with her cohorts stole the seat of presidency. Her dishonesty was more proven during the 2004 election. And she admitted it. Her apology is unacceptable considering the harm she had done to the Filipino people. The discovery of her properties in the States which is documented but she consistently deny is also part of her dihonesty to the Filipino people. Will you ever trust her this time? She had done it and she will do it again to stay in the position.

only time can tell when she would be staying in power. the opposition tried everything they can to unseat her thru impeachment, but they failed. sad to to note that that the country became divided because of the issues of the Garci tapes. but hope still remains to be there. it is for us, filipinos, how to make this country overcome the challenges we face.

The truth is, so many in this country of ours is aware of the cheating that has been going on for decades now. The cheating is more pronounced for those elective positions at the national level. This is mainly because, no one who runs for public office requiring to campaign throughout the country, is willing to lose. The campaigns will entail so much expenses and winning the post will be their only chance to get back their investments. Knowing that they will receive so little in salaries, we have a good idea as to how they are going to do about it to get back maybe ten times more than what they spent during the campaign days. Don't ever believe that, there is one over there who is truly running for purely the love of public service.

it has been going on my mind this idea of what's really behind why people want for positions in the government.
is it really service to mankind that they are up to? do they really need to be "up" there to help their fellowmen? just imagine, they are spending more in their campaigns, yet the salaries offered for them are not even a quarter of it. sir, what you are saying in your remarks are absolutely true. who and where in the world will you invest big amount if you cannot have bigger shares later!!!where will they SIPHON THEIR EARNINGS? sad to say, it's from us, the taxpayers.
with this, comes another question on my mind. how are we going to end this "self-serving" trait of most politicians?

I'm afraid she'll do it again but in differentw ays, I'm sure she'll never make any phone call because she knew they're being tapped..She has all the means and all the reasons to cheat..but at the back of my mind I just hope she has learned her lesson and try not to do it again.

I am sorry...
said PGMA.
She will indeed cheat. coz if TU will really fall. surveys have shown how voters are most likely to vote. Infact TU already cheated in some aspect of the campaign. they are spending more than what is stated in the law and they are indirectly using government funds to boost their campaign.

I'm sure they will.. especially because most of their candidates get poor ratings on surveys, and havent even made it to the Top 12 list of senators that might win..
But my dad said that the Filipinos are more vigilant now so I really hope that there'll be no cheating this time.. and if ever they do, that they be caught red-handed..

Almost good-meaning electorates hope for a clean and honest election. However, the big queation is: From the time of Marcos, since when we had a clean/honest election? All elections will always be marred by claims of cheating from both camps whether proven or just imaginary. Remember, nobody lost election here at the Philippines -- just cheated!!!!

i believe that there is no clean election. from the local to the presidential election, there is always cheating. arroyo did it once and she can do it again but maybe this time, they won't talk it over the phone. lols!

In my opinion, I think all politician experienced cheating especially when it comes to election. It might be a small or a huge cheat but I'm sure that in one point of their life as a politician, they made this kind of act. I'm not sure what they really like about politics that they actually risking their own reputation. I don't get them sometimes. But I'm pretty sure that some of them will absolutely cheat. I can bet on that. Whoever wins, I just wish that there will be some good improvements in our country in the end.
