Did/do you have a television in your room as a child?

My parents got me and my brother each a 13" TV for Christmas when I was 12 and he was 10. So, yeah, I had a TV in my room. When I graduated high school my dad bought me a 19" one with a VCR to take to college and I used that until the tuner blew on it years ago. Now that I am married we only have 2 TVs in the house. Both are 19" and sit side by side in the living room. One is hooked to the cable and the other to the Playstation. We don't have one in our room but I wish we did so I could escape the noise of the living room and lay down and watch TV in peace.

I used to have one in my room as a child and early teens. It wasn't until I moved out with my partner and got our own place I realised how much better I slept and How much more active we both were. I know when I have kids the answer for a tv in their rooms will be NO!

No way. I am far too busy to have a TV in my room. Plus, I feel that it seperates you from the family. I certainly didn't have a TV in my room as a child.

When I was a young child we did not have television at all. It was the early 1960's before my parents got a television so it was never an issue for me. However, my son wanted a television in his room when he was little and I refused. I pointed out that when he went to bed it was to go to sleep and not lay awake all night watching inappropriate and adult programmes. Perhaps I might have been construed as strict but I didn't want my son watching programmes not suitable for a child.

I didn't have a TV in my room until my college dorm room, and it was a little black & white TV (I graduated from college in 96!). We have a TV in our room now, but don't watch it except in the mornings usually.

When I was a child I didn't have a TV in my room and I was really glad. I think it makes you anti-social to sit in your room all the time watching TV. I would never let my kids have their own TV I think it is very bad for them as you can't monitor what they watch or how long they watch it. We can only play videos or DVDs in my house, which is good as I know exactly what they can watch. I just have one TV in the living room and we hardly ever watch it.

No I didn't have a tv in my room. I still don't have a tv in my room. My bedroom is for sleeping. I have never been one to watch tv from bed.

Yes I was spoiled as a child I wish I could go back to that cause now im on my own. But I have no regrets and yes I still have a tv in my room.
