missing persons

Philippines

I live in the Philippines. I was born and raised here and i do like my native country. I can say that my family finances are ok. But a few year ago, our businesses closed down because of the bad economy. We have been poor before, so no problem adjusting again. But i have a schizophrenic brother and i guess, even in his confused state, he knew what was going on around him. That the food was getting poorer. Sometimes i had to cut his medicine in half. Anything to extend our meager resources. My brother has been missing since 2002. We have tried everything to find him. Posted ads in newspapers, went to radio and television stations. went on an internet campaign. went out almost everyday trying to find him. but up to now we still cant find him. What pains me more is that our government has no means or programs for us with missing persons. We have already contacted the police, who asked us for money (im not making this up. My surname is chinese and here people think that when you're chinese you're filthy rich). We tried the local community who did nothing. To cut the story short, there was no help available for us. Im just posting this here, for those who have missing loved ones in their lives and whose hopes of finding them are diminishing. The only thing that we can hold on to is hope. And prayers that our loved ones, even though they are not with us are safe. Peace to all of you.
