I need advice on my living space

I rented the downstairs of a duplex over a year ago. The previous tenant left behind some furniture and goods, which worked for me as my stuff was in storage, out of state. Once I was here, a friend joined me and the space was somewhat divided. He collected most of my belongings for me and put it in storage nearer my home. Over the winter we both hit extreme hardships financially and keeping up payments on rent and storage were exptremely difficult. I expected to move out when an affordable apartment seemed available, but eventually proved to be not available. (People decided to stay) Where I live the cost of living is 14% above the national average- but my job involves licensing and cultivating a following. to move away poses a real difficulty. So for some time I've been living with stacks of boxes, a jumble of furnishings that are inexcess of what I need here, and yet, will need in a proper place. Proper bor me. I want to move. I need alot of room. I feel like I'm drowning in boxes I can't open and things I can't get to. Moreover the storage facility, sensitive to the struggle I've been through, has offered to drop the last month's rental if during that month I remove all that's in there. I'd sell stuff to diminish my possession but I am not allowed to do so here. (yard sales not allowed at this address) but even to do that, Ii'd have to sort through. when and if I bring the stored items here, I won't even be able to make a path to get from one room to another. I don't have any extra money. I don't know what to do. some of my things are irreplaceable. Some are necessary to survival. Some are cherished.

Use FreeCycle: http://www.freecycle.com to get rid of what you don't need and then use it again, to get what you will need in the future... Think it through, and the "Good Stuff" comes to you! :)
