Spring, Sunshine and Warm Weather

United States

The onset of warm weather has really lifted my spirits. Sunshine warming the air beckons me to the outdoors. If not for the muddy road in our neighborhood I would be outside walking and basking in the sun. Until the roads dry up and the rest of the snow is melted away, I will need to be happy with sitting in the sun on my porch. Even a small time in the sunshine lifts my spirits high. Watching the once frozen ground show signs of life as the daffodils and tulps peek through brings me joy. Hail Springtime. Hail sunshine.

Sunshine, yuk. I dread what lies ahead for us out here. It is beastly all spring and summer. I cannot stand to go outdoors. I love fall and winter. It is cooler, 60 to 80 degrees. The cacti bloom and wild flowers all around. Here, I'll send you all the sunshine you want....

Bummer. You have asthma by any chance? Hope you get to like the sunshine soon.

I don't like the sunshine because it is 125 degrees and I can pass out from such heat. Our winters are so much nicer. But rain and snow sounds appealing.

Hubby envies anyone that lives in a warmer climate. I tell him that even those that live in warmer climates complain about how hot it is where they live.

I am sensitive to sunlight too and the spring lifted my spirits already. Here in Montreal, the snow already melted down. It is not that warm yet, but spring is definitely in the air. I will very probably hop on my bike this weekend and go for a ride, that would be my first ride of the season.

I love the springtime too. I have been enjoying the warmer weather and the sunshine and blue sky has been truly wonderful. I have been waiting for the yard to dry out, I am itching to get in the yard and clean up after winter. I finally said to hell with the mudd. I went out and did some yard work. I also washed a bunch of bedding, sheets, blankets, mattress pads, comforters, etc. Then I hung everything out on the line to dry. My bed smelled like springtime and sunshine, I slept so good. Happy spring to you and all of us other mylotters.

I have been itching to hang the clothes out on the line to dry. The muddy path to the line keeps me from doing it. I would likely lose a shoe in it.

I agree with you Elusive, Spring is one of my favorite times of the year and now that it's finally getting warmer and the sun shines through more often I have been watching all the plants and trees show signs of life. We already have flowers blooming but there is still another chance of snow here that could ruin the blossoms. We'll see ;-)

One year, on May 18th (I remember it because it was my brother's birthday), we had a terrible snowstorm. It dumped over a foot of heavy wet snow. The lilac trees were badly damaged. The blossoms never reached full bloom that year.

I actually love winter and snow, (at least one good snow per winter) but we didn't have a single snow this year. I feel cheated! I have always been very hot natured and really dislike the extreme hot summer weather. Now, I LOVE Spring, it is just hot enough for me! As with you, I love seeing everything slowly come back to life. It is fascinating to me each year, as if I have never seen it! My Japanese red maple has those precious tiny, curled leaves right now, my ornamental peach tree is covered in bright pink buds (the branches look like pink light sabres!) and my daffodils are up. If it could just stay like this and not end up as 105 degree days with 80-90% humidity....I would be so happy! Ha! Oh well, at least I have found something to do indoors on those hot, hot days. I will come to myLot and chat!

Spring time is the best time of the year, why? because its not freezing cold and its not very hot. The weather is just alright for swimming , picninc and other outdoor gatherings. I hate winter coz it lucks you up inside the four walls of the house.. do you agree?

I do get a bad case of cabin fever in the winter months. The bitter cold keeps me inside. I would rather curl up with a warm blanket in front of the fireplace.

I definitely agree. This is a nice time of year. The sun is starting to shine. Things are starting to grow. The birds are singing and people are getting out more. There are more things to do and see...and it does make you feel better to see the sun...

The warm weather, the "spring" come too earlier, Global Warming is alerted. We are needed to save the ourselves by saving the Earth. This year, Winter is short, a sign of cool days getting short. The polar ice are melting and the sea level is rising. The cities near the shore will going to be disappeared if we dont save the Earth.

I'm with you on this- I love the Spring time. FLowers peeking and popping up out of the ground. Each day my daughter runs around the flower beds-- Mommy another one is up-- Its yellow ! : ) Its adorable.. I love to be outside- I love to open up the windows and get the fresh air. We've been outside every day after work/school playing softball catch-- The season is right around the corner. I love Spring! There is no more snow in my yard! Yahoo-- But it is a bit muddy.. I checks the forecast and looks like next wed.. chance of snow again! ARGH!

Hubby just broke my bubble too stating that we are going to get snow showers again. What a bummer. The mud is the worst part of spring. Mud season is what we call it.

Our weather is starting to turn out nice and warm as well. All of our snow is finally gone and I'm looking forward to starting my walking regimen again (I do the power-walk thing); just down our road and back but it has a bit of a hill and a few turns. Takes me about half an hour; I carry my green tea with me as I walk to stay hydrated, etc. I just have to watch out for neighbor(s) dogs; laugh out loud...

Today I suddenly find so many flowers coming out. You can't imagine how glad I am. One in the city is easy to forget the spring until summer comes. Whatever, we can't negelect the beauty of nature.

We expect some warmer weather to hit us by Easter weekend and are making plans to have a min-holiday to shake the cold from us.Just the feel of the sun's rays bouncing off my skin rejuvinates the body and soul.I am looking to the first day when I can take my book and my chair and go into the woods for a relaxing day listening to nature make its triumphant return.

Oh, you paint such a romantic picture that I envy you. I thought the Spring was finally here last weekend. I got to sit in the park for a couple of hours just basking in the glorious sunshine and I was looking forward to doing the same again this weekend. But yesterday they weather turned bitterly cold and we had a few snow showers to-day. To-morrow is not going to be much better so I better leave off putting all the winter clothes away for the forseeable future.

Yes I bet you lucky woman, with the warm weather coming your way while here in Australia it is starting to get cool now especially in the mornings. But at least you have that lovely sunshine to sit in while during the day I can still do this on some days while other days are just too cool as we head for winter here.

Autumn is here. I know this because the rains have started, although we are still on drought restrictions. It is colder at night, although I am still in my summer PJ's. My husband puts the heater on in the early morning. The kids think about wearing jumpers. The cats snuggle up closer at nights to us, on our beds. My daughter my the dogs jumper on her... not for long. Yes, Autumn is here.

I suffer from clinical depression. When the weather starts to lift, the sun comes out and their temperatures lift, so do my spirits. I know it's only a matter of time before the Mountains start to lose their nsow and they show their harsh jagged peaks once again. I like that - it means I can go hiking again, and I can go meditate in the fresh crisp air, and swimming in the lake at one of the peaks. I love Spring and Summer.
