Airconditioners Or Electric Fans

There are times when the room temperatures are too hot or too warm for us. What do you use to make yourself more comfortable? Will you turn on the electric fans or will it be the airconditioner? We only have electric fans at home. It will suffice to make the room cooler once the air keeps moving. Besides airconditioning units being more expensive, it consumes more electricity, too. Too bad for the budget when it is something which has to be considered always for small earners like us.

Although air conditioners are more effective, we try to use the fans first because we want to save electricity. But sometimes, especially during the summer, it gets too hot, even with the fans. When that happens, when the fans only can push around hot air, then we turn on the air conditioner for an hour or two. We only have it on long enough to cool the room down. Then, we turn the fans back on and the air conditioner back off. This usually lasts for an afternoon. We may have to repeat the process once or twice, but at least we're saving energy.

cutting of electricity bill is really essential these days. everything seems to be really expensive. actually, even when the weather is too hot and i get to stay for long hours in an airconditioned room, i still feel uncomfortable. later on, i get to feel sick and have colds. that's why, even on summer, i still prefer electric fans.

It is true that we must do our best to cut on energy consumption. Another way of keeping the cooler air during hotter days, will be to place ice on a tray or basin in front of the electric fan. There are some I know who will place some bucket of ice at the back of the electric fan where it can sip the coolness of the ice and blow it around the room. However, I think that it is better to have the basin of ice in front of the fan as this will in effect make the air that comes off it cool enough also.

Well living in Florida we get a lot of heat and humidity in the summer time. Well not even in the summer we have it already and it's only April. Right now we can go with just the house fan and the windows open along with ceiling fans but already we have had a few days were we had to turn on the a/c. When it's in the 80's you'd think that's not bad but then you add in humidity of 95% and you feel like you are breathing in water you turn on the a/c. We are also on medications and have medical issues that make it so we shouldn't be exposed to high temperatures so the a/c is really a neccessity not a want. Believe me I hate the electric bill come the summer time. It's always so high but what can we do? There isn't much choice.

i have heard that there are some health conditions which warrants the use of airconditioners. the truth though is, i do not know which cases would it be wherein the doctor shall prescribe the use of one. it must be very discomforting types of diseases which linger on for a lifetime more or less. i understand that some of us will have to put up with some really bothering health conditions just like my son's. he has leukemia. it is good that by this time, he is showing signs of getting much, much better.

air - I need air. Thank god for it. Feeling the affects of the illness from heat, is not pretty
I have to have air conditioning. Due to my medical condition, if I get hot, it exacerbates the disease, and causes issues. One of the lovely problems with having Multiple Sclerosis. It isn't fun to have especially when I use to like the warm weather.

yes, crickethear, i understand as to what it feels like to be using an airconditioner when in fact, one feels more like it without one. as much as possible, neither does any member of my family, my three kids and i, looks forward to switching an airconditioner on anytime of the day. it just so happens that there are times wherein it becomes a necessity to use one sometimes.

We don't have an air conditioner but we do have electric fans. I absolutely can not use a fan blowing on me all night I get phenomena every time. My husband has to have a fan or he can hardly breath so it's funny how two people can be so different. Last year on ebay I finally found a swamp cooler and they work pretty good.

Yeah, that's weird and funny, too. Swamp cooler...I'll try to find one of those. Thank you, grandmaof2, for the thought.

We only bought our air conditioner at home when my wife give birth to our first child. Our room is not well ventilated that's why an electric fan is not sufficient to cool down the whole room.It made us decide to purchase a 0.5Hp Aircon enough to cool down the whole room area.We only make us of the air conditioner during night time for almost 8 hrs. So far, our electric bill is not that big enough and only a little difference from the previous billings before we use the air conditioner.

It is good that you have bought an energy efficient one. These energy efficient types do not consume much energy. These are the new models that are being sold nowadays.

Since my place is in lipa, we have a cooler climate here. However, during summer, we also tend to feel the warm air. My house is surrounded by trees like, mango, langka, sinigwelas, guava, santol, rambutan, papaya, malunggay, and banana trees. Therefore, whenever we feel warm, we just go to our yard and will try to feel and inhale the fresh air coming from our trees. When inside the house, electric fan is the best. But we don't use this electric fan at night. Because, as I said, it is cool here. Air conditioner as you said is a bit expensive especially when you are trying to budget the households.

I know that Lipa has a very good and friendly climate. I hope that will never change. Having all those fruit trees and other plants around in your yard, will always make your surroundings cooler than those which do not have any. It is true that when the temperature gets hotter, it will never be that hot under the trees, in fact it will be always comfortably cool out there.

honestly, i feel so uncomfortable in airconditioned rooms. i just feel sick when i get to be in an airconditioned room for a day. actually, there are even times when i get fever. maybe i am just not too used to so much cold or maybe i am more relaxed with electric fans on.

There is only one explanation for this. You have a high sensitivity to the cold air that the airconditioner blows. This is so because it is an artificially cooled air that you are getting from the airconditioner.
