5 years ago my son Caleb has a animal loving girlfriend and he also loves animals as do all my kids. This girl found a litter of baby kittens cold and some were dead. She later found a dead mother cat nearby. There were 3 kittens still alive. They were about 3 days old.Their eyes were not open yet and the cord was dried but still there.Caleb came home with one,his girlfriend kept one and one of his friends the other. We bought some baby formula, doll bottled with rubber nipples. He was very thin and I told Caleb that he would probably not make it through the night...Caleb had other plans!Caleb brought in a plastic storage crate, put wood shavings in the botton the a piece of thick boiled wool, brought in our mother rabbit(she had no babies at the time) put her in the crate with the little kitten, still nameless.Twisty Rabbit snuggled up to the kitten and the kitten acted like a bulldozer ramming his little face into Twisty so he got the name Dozer.Caleb was a jr in hs at the time but still got up every 2 hours that night, wiping his bottom to stimulate his bodily functions, then back in the crate with Mommy Twister to be kept warm. The next am our little Dozer was alive with a protruding little tummy from eating his fill.I would feed him 3 times during the day and Caleb took over after school and weekends.Twister passed from our care this past fall after many years of being a special Rabbit(but that's another story for another day)but her Cat son Dozer is a big beautiful cat that thinks he rules the house, barns, yards etc! I will be loading a picture of Twister and Dozer taken when Dozer was almost 2 weeks old.Hope you like it.Do you have a good cat-tail!

Oh what a lovely story about your son Caleb and the kitten, oh I understand now how he got the name dozer and that really was his name, with the rabbit. I bet that Dozer does run the house, it is wonderful how the little kitten survived. No I do not have any story to put here about my cat.

That rabbit of yours is unbelievable. She did her share in taking care of the kitten. You must be thankful that your son did everything to save the kitten. Now, you are rewarded with a beautiful cat. Oh, wow, I can imagine the difficulty you all went through just to make sure you save the kitten's life. It was no laughing matter, then.

Caleb did a wonderful job raising Dozer and he had raised Twister when her mama rejected her also.Cab has a good heart.

What a sweet story. I had a week old kitten handed to me a year & a half ago. I didn't even have a sweet bunny to put him with. I fixed a bed, with a hot pad under part of it so he could creep off & on the pad. You can see him in my avatar, the black & white kitten in the wreath. The tabby & white with him is his "uncle" Rygel that moved in when he was 4 weeks old and showed Oliver how to be a cat.

Dozer has no idea that he is a cat.He talks to us all the time and is something else.
