Hi, I just run across this disgustion. I think Marigolds are easy to grow. and a little secret if you don't know you can save the seeds
for next year,so You don't have to buy anymore
I do it every year. I found that out from my niebor next door to me. 2 years a go she gave me some seeds from her plant. I planted them and they came out some pretty. I have Yellow one, Orange ones Maroon and yellow. they look so pretty when you plant them all together, you hve a differt variety. rembember to save them, other plant that have seeds save them too. put them in a brown paper bag, or anykind of containers. also put plant food on them. they will grow like crazy. pentunias will come back too, next year only if they are in a pot.
so next year you won't have to buy Marigolds. keep the seeds. they are hard to kill. they can withstand anything. another plant you can keep till next year are Geriniums if you like them. put them in a brown paper bag and store in the basement and plant them next year just like they are. another niebor told me about that. they were Senior citizens, so they know what they are talking about. I hope I have gave you some good tips. because it really works.

Yes, marigolds are extremely easy to grow and drought resistant. In the fall you'll get tons of seeds for the following year. They don't smell too pretty though.

They smell kinda crummy, but they really keep mesquetos away and outta your yard lol. They are really easy to grow, just put them in soil and they do the rest, i try to water my garden every day to every other day but my MIL grows merigolds as well and only waters them 2-3 times a month. And they thrive in that as well. We like to plant them near where we eat outside to help keep the bug population down.

I have planted marigolds before and they can be drought resistant but water them good and deep several times a week when possible.
